Matt Wilcock, Green Party Councillor for West Norwood, Lambeth

About me & my work

Green Party Councillor, West Norwood

I grew up in Lambeth and have spent my life trying to make it better. During the 2020 lockdown I discovered the Bzz Community Garden by West Norwood Bus Garage โ€” and it changed everything.

I founded Leaves Breathe, a social enterprise supporting residents across 24 community gardens in London: council estates, playgrounds, and homes for the elderly. What started as planting grew into food banks, allotments, social events for isolated neighbours, and networks of peer-to-peer support.

I believe when a community finds its voice โ€” in a garden or beyond โ€” it gains the power to tackle its biggest challenges. That’s why I’m your councillor.
